This panoramic, scenery and wildlife tour will take you through pine forests, grasslands, picturesque mountains and sub-tropical bush. Experiencing sites from Caves and dinosaurs to soothing waterfalls and breath-taking views. Leaving the beautiful mountains behind as the landscape changes to bush plains. Bordering the Kruger National Park, Balule offers a diversity of vegetation and ensures that good game sightings are guaranteed, like one or all of the “Big 5” and we are especially proud of the abundant bird life and smaller mammals attracted by the riverine forest and open plains.

Itinerary

Day One

You will be met by your tour representative upon your arrival in Johannesburg, at O.R. Tambo International Airport. Once settled, will you depart on an unforgettable nature discovery tour. A comfort stop at Milly’s Trout Farm will allow you to stretch your legs and to enjoy lunch and refreshments (own expense). Once refreshed, will you continue to arrive late afternoon in Sabie.

Day Two

After breakfast will you depart for a visit to the Sudwala Caves, which is regarded as the oldest caves in the world, as well as the Dinosaur Park. Experience life size models of pre-historic dinosaurs, along with real life Nile crocodiles. The visit to these sights will be completed in time to enjoy lunch (own expense) and the rest of the afternoon is at leisure. There are many additional attractions to be visited, such as the Sabie Falls, a Trout Farm and Sabie shopping. Make sure you get lovely curios to take home.

Day Three

Today you depart for more beautiful sights en-route to the Blyde River Canyon. We stop to view the Mac Mac Falls, Graskop Gorge, Pinnacle Rock and God's Window. Continuing your journey in order to view Bourke’s Luck Potholes, as well as enjoying a lunch break (own expense). After these breath-taking views, will you travel further to your resort for the evening.

Day Four

You will depart after breakfast for your next discovery. The Three Rondavels Viewpoint. From here one overlook the canyon to the Three Rondavels on the other side of the northern edges of the Drakensberg mountain range. After taking in this spectacular view, will you continue to the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre. Here you will see living proof that people can make a difference to the long-term survival of the planet and its animal inhabitants. HESC focuses on the conservation of rare, vulnerable and endangered animal species. You can enjoy lunch (own expense) after this visit and also take time to visit the curio shop. You will then depart for your hotel in Hoedspruit.

Day Five

This day will be an early start as you set out for a bush walk to learn more about the plants, insects and of course the wild animals, that you will meet on your walk. After this experience, will you return to the camp for a hearty breakfast. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the awesome views of the river and see the free roaming wildlife in the camp. Take the opportunity to join the afternoon sunset game drive. You will return in time to a scrumptious dinner.

Day Six

After breakfast this morning will you depart for Balule Private Game Reserve. A short travel distance and you will arrive in time to enjoy lunch at the camp. Take time to relax for a few hours before you are on your way to spot more game. The afternoon game drive will be the start of your “Big 5” tracking. After this awesome experience, will you return for dinner.

Day Seven

An early start, as you do not want to miss out on spotting more animals. You leave the camp for a morning game drive, seeing what nature has to offer. Having worked up an appetite will see you returning to the camp for breakfast. Taking in the tranquillity of the bush, you have the rest of the day at leisure. Enjoying lunch and just relax, till it is time for the afternoon game drive. Don’t forget the cameras, as you want to get that perfect picture of your favourite animal and it might just be on this drive. After all the excitement of driving through the bushes, listening to the animal noises, will you return to the camp to prepare for dinner.

Day Eight

Feeling like an early start? Then set out on another morning game drive. You never know when you will spot that one animal that has been so evasive. The fresh morning air will make you hungry and it’s time to return for breakfast. Afterwards, you can put your feet up and enjoy the surroundings, doing some bird watching from your viewing deck. Until it is time for a refreshing lunch. This setting the pace for the next adventurous, afternoon game drive. Hopefully you had the chance to track the “Big 5” by now. If not, don’t despair, it might just happen on this drive. After hours of tracking the animals, will you return for a delightful dinner.

Day Nine

Today is your last opportunity to enjoy a glorious morning game drive. Another wildlife discovery not to be missed. You return to a super breakfast and afterwards have the day at leisure. Relax and enjoy the breath-taking scenery from your deck, until it is time to enjoy lunch. Not long after lunch, will you get ready for your last game drive. This giving you the opportunity to see animals that you might not have seen on previous game drives. Remember those cameras. You will return in time to enjoy a lovely dinner.

Day Ten

This day will see you saying farewell to the bush and the awesome animals, as you return to Johannesburg after breakfast. Along the way will you have a comfort stop to stretch the legs and to enjoy lunch (own expense). You will arrive late afternoon at O.R. Tambo, Johannesburg.
