Itinerary

Day One

You depart early morning from Johannesburg and travel towards the Limpopo Province. We will stop along the route to stretch the legs and to enjoy lunch. Our arrival at the lodge is late afternoon, giving you time to settle in and to explore the area, taking in the beautiful scenery and the orange sunset. Dinner is served later in the evening, where after you can relax around the fire at the boma, while watching the stars and listening to the night sounds.

Day Two

This day starts with an early morning sunrise game drive where you will track the Big Five. After the game drive will you return to the lodge for a delicious breakfast. The Kids Safari starts after breakfast where a field guide takes the children on a guided walk and teach them interesting facts of the bush and the various animals. After the early morning excitement can you relax and enjoy the day at leisure, until it is time for the afternoon sunset game drive. You will return in time to freshen up for dinner. Once again can you relax after supper around the fire at the boma.

Day Three

Wake up in your own time and start your day with a delicious breakfast. You then have a choice between going on a mountain bike or hiking trail. After this exciting exercise can the parents relax while the kids join another one of their safaris. More leisure time during the day, till you need to get ready for the sunset game drive. After spotting some game, will you return to the lodge for dinner. Make the most of the last night and enjoy the sounds of the bush, whilst star gazing around the fire at the boma.

Day Four

The last day and you will be able to view more wildlife, hoping to see those animals that eluded you. Be sure to join this sunrise game drive. After spotting the game will you return for a delicious breakfast at the lodge. Shortly afterwards is it time to prepare for check out and return to Johannesburg.

About Kololo Game Reserve

Kololo Game Reserve is situated next to the Welgevonden Nature Reserve. Attractive to tourists who have a special interest in flora, fauna and unspoiled wilderness. The Kololo reserve consists of 3.000 hectares of African bush, with open savannas, dense woodlands, mountains, rivers and valleys. The reserve does not host any “dangerous” animals and allow guests free roaming throughout the property.

Kololo is a 4-star safari destination, in a malaria-free area, child friendly and Fair Trade Certified. Chalets are all in close proximity of the restaurant and pool. Some are hidden in the lush African bush, others are situated on beautiful lawns, surrounded by age old Syringa trees.
